The polls sure do say a lot about president Donal Trump!

I choose to blog on the recent presidential poll survey which I found to be very interesting concerning Donald Trump’s overall popularity amongst Americans.

Donald Trumps recent popularity poll count has dropped tremendously according to this recency report, and he is now in fact disapproved by more than fifty three percent of the American people.

This is not shocking news for most of the American people who disapprove of the many tacky tactics that Donal Trump exemplified when handling and or representing the oveall American people anyways.

I like that there’s many useful ways on the internet to stay in the loop of whats buzzing around when it comes to census and surveys on governmental officials. This data survey was humorous in a way because it also compares other presidential approval rates against each other; check it out for yourself, I’m sure you’ll get a laugh too, as I did.

A world of pirates

The data set that I believe will be captivating is most popular illegal  downloads based on a four day data capture by The Guardian. Although this article only writes about popular Christmas movie downloads, having this data readily available has me wondering about a couple different scenarios.

How many people download and or illegally stream movies premiering in theaters, television shows etc. Also, how many people do not have cable service or video streaming services like Hulu or Netflix?

This type of data set would prove helpful in writing a blog piece on this subject due to its analysis of the term “popular” and transitioning that to what actually is popular. For example, the premier of “Game of Thrones” may have had 10 million views through a sanctioned cable provider, we have people who use piracy sites to view them as well.

The article specifies the type of movies that were downloaded, timeframe of when data was collected, and the software used to collect the data. The article certainly raise the question: Are we living in a world of modern pirates?

Examining our future of walls

In an increasingly divided world, The Washington Post’s, A New Age of Walls offers an extensive insight into the lives and perspectives of those most affected by the changing global political climate.

The interactive series is effective dually, both in its biting critique and in its presentation.

Each of the three episode in the series are filled with haunting black and white clips both of personal perspectives and topical news clips, accompanied by a soundtrack that in its sum is somewhat reminiscent of Schindler’s List.

In addition to the touching videos, interactive data sets visualize information in a clean and easily understood fashion.Screenshot (16)

In total the project cleanly provides information, but more importantly gives the information feeling. It makes the news relatable and personal, in a way that can connect with the audience unlike a standard news story.

CNN makes content easy to absorb on YouTube

In a world where visual information is beating out written, CNN is publishing primary sources of news directly to YouTube.

On top of posting clips taken directly from the station’s many shows, CNN often posts videos of original news sources, (clips of actual events without a reporter digesting the information for the audience), to YouTube.

One example is the recent Larry Nassar trial, where a distraught father attempted to attack Nassar in the courtroom. The incident was caught on video, and uploaded to YouTube by a variety of news outlets, including CNN.

The video uploaded by CNN went viral, reaching YouTube’s trending video’s page.

Many internet viewers do not want the hassle of watching a 30 minute long television program in order to get their news. Information in its most digestible format is the preferred method of the internet.

And what is more digestible than a direct link to the source.
