Keturrah Ellis

Hi I’m Keturrah Ellis and for a class blog assignment we are to sync our social media accounts.

I’ll be linking my Twitter account and my LinkedIn account so that whoever is interested can follow me and or stay in contact with me.pexels-photo-607812.jpeg(free Google art)

My Twitter account is new and its allowing me to really zoom in on people, places and arts that I like and so I’ll be sharing more of my scientific side in the near future.

I’m an inventor with a patent pending product and I am also a business owner at Scent2Sleep llc. If anyone has any questions in regards to patents or business in general, LinkedIn is another great way to connect with me. I’ll be more than happy to help where and when I can.

I love arts of all kind as well and so I’ll be sharing more of my own arts with my followers and contacts. Expanding is good when the contacts are with others one can build with, and so I am more private than open when it comes to my private life however, I am fully active for a just cause and for business.

I can also be reached:

Neil deGrasse Tyson is on Twitter!

I’m new to the Twitter scene however, I am not at all new to social media. I seem to really like anything environmental especially cosmic based.

Neil Tyson is one of my favorite astrophysics along with the late Carl Sagan. I chose to follow Neil on Twitter because he knows his science stuff, and he has an amazing way of speaking scientifically. If you are interested in outer space and how the cosmos relate and affects us all through astronomy, then you’ll enjoy his Twitter posts and news.pexels-photo-110854.jpeg(free Google art)

Neil Tyson is best known for the Space odyssey where he took many of us on a quest to discover outer space in a creative documentary he did called COSMOS.

Neil took many of us on a 13 part sequel to Carl Sagan’s 1980 landmark television documentary called Cosmos. The Cosmos: A lifetime Odyssey, which was and still is a very informative space odyssey that takes one on many adventures with new discovers to be had.

I really like how Neil Tyson, displays himself; cool, funny and extremely smart. I have followed him on other social media sites as well for sometime now and so I can safely say whoever follows him is in for a informative cosmic treat!

Cambridge Analytica misuses Facebook information

_8

An emerging story that’s happening right now is the Cambridge Analytica’s misappropriation of Facebook user’s information. The Rolling Stone gives a recap on what we know so far in this story. So far, during the time of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, his election team hired Cambridge Analytica and gathered 50 million Facebook profiles.

The reason that has been said for the gathering of these profiles was to use the information to identify U.S voters to target them with personalized political advertisements.

Back in early 2017, Cambridge head of products, Matt Oczkowski, said in a postelection Google panel that the Trump campaign didn’t use psychographics.

This isn’t the first time that this has happened. Back in 2015, presidential candidate Ted Cruz did the exact same method. Cruz’s campaign paid researchers at Cambridge University to gather Facebook profiles.

My aggregation accounts

Social media helped me gather different types of information from a variety of places like when I scroll down my Twitter feed. As I read from post to post, I can be going from news on what’s topping the box office and then the next post can be something about President Trump.

Social media like Twitter is useful to filter all your interests into one place or in this case, feed.

Currently, I’m trying to organize my Tweet Deck to suit my taste. Right now I have different sections that include feeds anywhere from food to the recent shooting at YouTube headquarters.

My current Tweet Deck layout.

Tweet Deck helps me find different news outlets that I wouldn’t have otherwise come across such as TIME’s page. After visiting their profile, I am able to find even more relevant articles that spark my interest.

TIME has 15.5 million followers that stay updated on their news posts. If easily accessible social media like Twitter doesn’t keep people updated, I don’t know what will.

AJ+ delivers important information in easiest ways

The news outlet AJ+ is known for their pages on Twitter and Instagram is worth the follow. AJ+ states they are, “news for the connected generation, sharing human struggles and challenging the status quo.”

Gathering 892,000 followers, AJ+ delivers jam-packed news into easily accessible posts that often formats the news into video presentations.

In a generation like this one, everything is so fast-paced and needy for convenience if news isn’t efficiently presented, many people won’t bother reading it. That’s why innovative news outlets like AJ+ succeed.

I personally enjoy following them because a trust that the news is accurate and it doesn’t hurt that it’s more of a visual interaction story rather than reading through a long article.

Many minorities are represented on AJ+ which is another reason I like following them. AJ+ doesn’t shy away from being the voice to minorities in this country or even the less fortunate outside the country.
